In cooperation with the Korean Embassy, Bahrain Culture Authority Celebrates, The 45th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries

Echoing the sweet tunes of traditional Korean music, the celebration of the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea has been launched on 10 November 2021. H.E Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, attended the event, as well as His Excellency Mr. Chung Hae Kwan, the Korean Ambassador, H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, Director General of Culture and Arts at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, along with many diplomats and culture lovers in Bahrain.

H.E Shaikha Hala Bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, speaking for the occasion, said that culture is the common language of the whole world, and the best tool to bring nations and peoples together. A culture can only realize itself and reach a state of maturity if it is able to relate to other cultures and life-worlds in a comprehensive and interactive sense, a process one might also characterize by reference to what we have termed the "dialectics of cultural self-comprehension". The strength of a people or nation indeed depends on the ability to interact with other communities in a complex, multidimensional manner, something that also includes the capacity to see oneself through the eyes of the other, H.E added. Bahrain Culture is celebrating the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Korea, given the increasing level of these ties that are being solidified day after day. H.E expressed her happiness to host such an amazing Korean music concert at the Cultural Hall, extending her thanks to the Korean embassy, as well as, ShowTech Company for its valuable support to this successful event, asserting that major cultural endeavors can only be achieved by concerted efforts of all parties.

His Excellency, the Korean ambassador, for his turn, expressed is thanks to Bahrain Culture Authority for hosting this sweet music tunes concert and the fruitful cooperation to commemorate and celebrate the 45th Anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries. His Excellency voiced his happiness and joy to attend and enjoy the “Dasrum: Stay Strong” female professional performers, playing memorable rhythms and songs that reflect the role of women in creative cultural and artistic production. Thanks to their diverse genres, synchronic choreography, strategic camera movements and spotlight-stealing fashion trends, their songs are no less than an audio-visual treat, His Excellency added. Korean girl groups are now dominating the pop music scene with their high-octane performances and euphonious vocals, reflecting the sad memories, aspirations and hope for a better future and final peace to the Korean people, His Excellency concluded.

The amazing Korean traditional music concert, “Dasrum: Stay Strong will held also on 11 November 2021, at 8:00 pm at the Cultural Hall.

During the concert, the Korean ensemble “DASRUM” performed a wide variety of musical genres including Korean traditional music, K-pop and Bahraini music along with Korean traditional instruments.

Needless to say, that the Kingdom of Bahrain and South Korean Republic enjoy strong cultural relations deeply anchored in a constant and important effervescent common cultural movement, which is reflected through the Korean presence in all events and activities organized by Bahrain Culture Authority in its sustainable cultural seasons. Korean cultural and artistic icons have been strongly represented in Spring of Culture festival, Bahrain Summer festival and other periodical major events, such as cinema weekdays, music events, arts and exhibitions.
