People around the whole world are awaiting the most prestigious and universal event to be hosted by the city of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, as it prepares to open the largest global event in the Middle East, Expo 2020 Dubai. In the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities continues its preparations in full swing to participate in the Expo through its national pavilion, in which volunteers play an important role in writing its success story, draw a a bright image of Bahrain and convey a unique message to the world.

Indeed, Bahrain Culture Authority invited those who want be a part of making history to sign up for the Expo 2020 Volunteers Program at the beginning of the current month, after selecting the successful candidates who have extraordinary and exceptional languages, management and creative skills. The Volunteers Program is organized in cooperation with Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, the EDB -the Bahrain Economic Development Board and The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

 

The Volunteers Programme for the Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, which is organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, in cooperation with Tamkeen, has attracted an overwhelming majority of young enthusiastic talents and a total of 400 applications.  

 

At the heart of the action, volunteers will demonstrate Bahraini culture, values and traditions to people from all over the world while gaining lifelong skills, building connections, and making extraordinary memories.

 

Indeed, during the training programme, which is held until September 14, the volunteers will undergo a set of sessions aimed at providing them with the best skills in media, cultural, diplomatic and administrative domains. The volunteering scheduled training topics include: diplomatic culture, effective communication, team building skills, decision-making and problem-solving techniques, in addition to intensive topics on the history and culture of Bahrain, the details of the Kingdom’s pavilion and its general theme, and a program of events and activities that will last for six months, starting from next October.

Using the theme, “Density Weaves Opportunities, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities’ pavilion, now completed, hopes to create images of weaving needles and the density of a traditionally woven fabric. The Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion will focus on the theme of Density as an enabler of opportunities; an intricate exploration of the dense natural and urban compositions of Bahrain. Bahrain’s relatively small geography has defined its development throughout the ages and the Pavilion will showcase the way in which scarcity of land has naturally led to density in its development.  Expo 2020 Dubai, the first World Expo take place in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region is an ideal opportunity to highlight the successes and developments in the Arab world, with Bahrain playing an important role towards these achievements. The overarching theme of Expo 2020 Dubai is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”, which will be explored through three sub-themes of Opportunity, Mobility and Sustainability. Running from 1 October 2021 until 31 March 2022, Expo 2020 Dubai is expected to attract 25 million visits, with 70% of all visitors coming from outside the UAE, thus giving Bahrain a unique opportunity to promote its cultural sites and enhance its trade relations with the world.
