The rehabilitation and training course in culture and diplomacy started, on 27 November 2022, in the Bahrain National Museum auditorium, in cooperation with the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies, and jointly organized by the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States. The event was held in the presence and participation of a number of those interested in cultural affairs from GCC countries, led by Dr. Saad Al-Zughaibi, Director of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council; in the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

In addition, and on the sidelines of the session, H.E Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, received the participating Gulf delegation. H.E expressed his wishes for an exciting visit and hospitality accommodation for the delegation in Bahrain, as well as and fruitful results for the work of the session, which will be held until November 30, 2022.

The first day session program of the rehabilitation and training course included the opening session entitled (The Current Cultural Reality in the GCC Countries) presented by Dr. Saad Al-Zughaibi, Director of the Department of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities in the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Dr. Al-Zugaibi highlighted a number of main themes, such as the vision, the mission and the objectives of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, the characteristics of the GCC states, the challenges, and the basic objectives of the Council, the strategic objectives, the management of joint Gulf action, and the organizational structure.

In addition, two working sessions were also held; the first entitled (The Gulf Cooperation Council: Historical and Future Perspectives), and the second entitled (Cultural Strategy of the GCC States 2020/2030 Opportunities and Challenges). At the conclusion of the first day's work, the participants toured the corridors and halls of the Bahrain National Museum, in addition to visiting the Bahrain National Theater adjacent to the museum.

Indeed, the qualified rehabilitation and training course program for Monday at the Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa Academy for Diplomatic Studies includes two sessions. The first is entitled Diplomatic Culture: The Culture and Diplomacy Element in Developing the Soft Powers of States, presented by H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohammad Hakim Al-Tarifi, Chief of Arab Affairs. The second session is entitled Self-development Skills: Adaptation And the flexibility presented by Ms. Abeer Al-Maatouq, in addition to a tour of the Diplomatic Library, and the cultural program that includes a visit to the city of Muharraq and its cultural centers.

On the third day of the qualified rehabilitation and training course program will be at the academy’s headquarters; the first session will be held on diplomatic representation, presented by His Excellency Ambassador H.E Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Head of the Americas and Pacific Affairs Sector. In the second session, the Protocol Sector will present a workshop on diplomatic protocol, followed by a tour of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the end of the rehabilitation and training course, Dr. Elie Flouty, Media Consultant at at the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, will give a lecture on the effective best skills in dealing with the media in the Lecture Hall, Bahrain National Museum. The closing program also features a session panel on how to reach out and communicate and what are the main skills that official spokesperson should have. The session will be accompanied by a practical media training and, finally, participants will be awarded Training Participation Certificates
