His Excellency Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities and Commissioner General of the Kingdom of Bahrain Pavilion, participated in the opening ceremony of Expo 2025 Osaka, held on Saturday, in the presence of Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako, alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and around 1300 dignitaries, including senior officials and diplomats from around the world.
The Kingdom of Bahrain is set to officially inaugurate its national pavilion, "Connecting Seas," on Sunday. Situated in the "Empowering Lives" zone, the pavilion covers 995 square metres and rises to 13.7 metres in height across four floors, offering a direct view of the Expo waterfront. Designed by Lebanese architect Lina Ghotmeh, the pavilion invites visitors on an immersive, multi-sensory journey through a series of exhibits that weave together Bahrain’s tale with the sea, trade, crafts, industry, pearling, and the environment.
Held under the theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” Expo 2025 Osaka features participation from 160 countries. The six-month event, running until 13 October, is expected to welcome more than 28 million visitors.
