Art Centre Opens Solo Exhibition by Dr. Waleed Kanoush

The Art Centre of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities hosted the opening of the solo exhibition by artist Dr. Waleed Kanoush, titled “Pyramid, Tree & Moon”. Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the National Arts Council and Honorary President of the Bahrain Arts Society; Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities; and Shaikha Marwa bint Rashid Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Arts Society, alongside a group of art professionals and visual arts enthusiasts.

The exhibition features a collection of works that blend conceptual vision with visual experimentation, reinterpreting ideas through carefully structured compositions. The artworks incorporate symbols inspired by nature and heritage, intersecting with geometric forms and refined designs that explore the essence of objects, living beings, and abstract concepts, seeking a balance between visual and intellectual expression.

Dr. Kanoush is noted for a distinguished artistic journey that bridges academic creativity and cultural administration. He has curated and supervised numerous exhibitions and visual arts projects, contributing significantly to the advancement of the Egyptian visual arts movement.

Since 2006, he has presented a wide range of solo exhibitions, including “Black and Colours”, “A Space of Freedom”, “Hussein Fawzi”, “Contradictions”, “Small Works from the Thousand States Series”, “The Shadow of a Woman”, and “Paths of Joy”. He has also participated in international group exhibitions, notably the Egyptian Contemporary Art Exhibitions in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in 2005 and in Muscat, the Arab Capital of Culture, in 2006.

Dr. Kanoush has received several awards in recognition of his artistic achievements, including First Prize in the Painting Category at the 15th Youth Salon in 2003, as well as Second Prize in the Art Criticism Competition.

The exhibition will run until 20 February, welcoming visitors daily from 9 AM to 8 PM at the Art Centre.
