Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities Participates in Bahrain Sports Day Activities

In celebration of Bahrain Sports Day, the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities organised a sports walk on the outdoor grounds of the Bahrain National Museum, with the participation of the Authority’s officials and staff. The initiative aimed to combine physical wellbeing with the promotion of cultural and intellectual awareness.

The event was held in implementation of the Cabinet decision chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, designating Thursday, 12 February 2026, as a half working day across all ministries and government entities to allow employees to take part in Bahrain Sports Day activities, thereby reinforcing the role of sport as a community culture.

On this occasion, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities, affirmed that Bahrain Sports Day reflects the Kingdom’s steadfast national approach in supporting initiatives that promote sport as a fundamental pillar of comprehensive development and as a component that enhances cultural and intellectual awareness within society.

He noted the Authority’s commitment to continuing programmes and initiatives that encourage physical wellbeing, stressing that fostering awareness of sport as a sustainable lifestyle contributes to strengthening healthy and sporting values and encourages community participation, further reinforcing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position as a leading model in supporting sport and community initiatives.
